It feels like forever ago now that I was loving my time travelling around Europe, probably because I’ve been home for a couple of weeks already now. After returning I was more than a little worn out and the website & Instagram fell on the backburner as I took my first proper break from the daily grind of getting content together in forever. But I’m back and I have missed just sitting down and writing out my thoughts. So what better way to start back on the bandwagon than with a look at all of the bits I picked up while I was away.
I didn’t really go into my trip with any wishlist or plan of what I wanted to pick up, focusing instead on buying things that I knew I couldn’t get easily in Australia. I had so much fun wandering around pharmacies, drug stores and department store beauty floors. I’m still working through everything and giving it a proper test but you can expect to hear more about my favourites over the next little while.

Oh man, I could’ve spent hours in City Pharma in Paris, if it wasn’t for the crushing crowds. But I still managed to get plenty of awesome skincare that I can’t wait to add to my routine.
First up, I grabbed the Melvita Milky Cleansing Oil. We all know by now that I love a good cleansing oil. I couldn’t resist spending plenty of time at the La Roche Posay stand, admiring the range. I ended up just restocking my to picks, the La Roche Posay Serozinc and La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ because it was just so much cheaper. Four Effaclar Duos, not excessive at all, right?
I also picked up a couple of things from Caudalie. My first target was the Caudalie Grape Water, because who doesn’t love a refreshing mist? I also grabbed the Caudalie S.O.S Thirst-Quenching Serum. I’d heard so many good things so I thought I’d see what all the fuss is about. And finally, the lip balm I brought with me to Europe wasn’t really cutting it so I picked up the Caudalie Lip Conditioner and I fell in love. Super hydrating, comfortable to wear and the perfect handbag companion.
My other French purchase was the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt. I’ve been really into these sort of scalp scrubs lately so wanted to try out this smaller size.
H & M
I could hardly wait to have a proper look at the H&M beauty range and I was not disappointed. There were plenty of beautiful bits and pieces to check out and I settled on a few beauties.
For the cheeks, I couldn’t go past the very popular H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Cameo Pink. A beautiful neutral shade with a hint of pink to it – absolutely perfect for me. For the eyes, I couldn’t go past the H&M Sensorium Eye Colour in Cuvée Rose. The baked formula looked absolutely beautiful. And for lips, a lot of their more intense lipstick shades weren’t up my alley but the H&M Sheer Lip Colour It’s Your Mauve looked perfect for me.
I also couldn’t resist the H&M Nail Colour in Space Race. I’m a sucker for all things holographic and after quickly googling swatches online, it made it’s way into my basket.

I was equally excited to get a chance to look at the & Other Stories collection in store. Everything looked so incredibly ~aesthetic~ but I was here for it. Needless to say, I spent plenty of time swatching or smelling everything in their makeup and bodycare ranges.
I ended up with the & Other Stories Eye Colour in Cameo Lights and & Other Stories Eye Colour Duo in Coir Sepia because I can’t get enough of beautiful sparkling nudes. The formula is beautiful and the shades are just so up my alley. I also grabbed the Lip Colour in Tranquility Fig because never enough mauves, apparently.
I fell in love with pretty much every scent in the & Other Stories line-up. Everything was so incredible. I ended up with a million hand creams because they were easiest to get home – the & Other Stories Hand Creams in Sicilian Sunrise, Méditerranéen and Miami Muse are all living on my desk now and I’m in heaven. I also grabbed the & Other Stories Méditerranéen Body Souffle because it was on sale and I fell in love with the scent – a little fruity, a little floral and very me.

K I K O
I love Kiko’s products and wish they’d hurry up and get their stuff to Australian shores! But there wasn’t a lot that I felt like I needed to pick up this time around. Their foundations took my fancy but their shade range isn’t the greatest so I gave it a skip and just grabbed a couple of other bits. My main love affair was with the Kiko Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in 315. After swatching pretty much every shade in the store, I settled on this safe little mauve number.
I spotted the Kiko Holographic Nail Lacquers in 001, 002 & 004 on my way to the register and couldn’t resist. I’m a sucker for all things holographic so it was no surprise that I came home with a gold, a silver and a purple. My other impulse purchase at the registers was the Kiko Hydra Pro Glow Moisturising Cream. A lightweight, comfortable moisturiser with a hint of glow to it.

I managed to find my way into a pharmacy or drugstore in pretty much every country and ended up with all kinds of pretties. Of course, the main damage was done in British drugstores, though.
The Nip + Fab Foundation in 00 Light Mixer caught my eye and the MUA Custom Colour Foundation Mixer in Lightening Cool looked like another awesome option. After hearing Tati rave about it, I made it my mission to find the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. And I also grabbed the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Mattifying Powder after hearing plenty of good things.
Not a lot ended up catching my eye at the Revolution stand but the Revolution Sugar & Spice Blush Palette did look very pretty. The Catrice Highlighting Powder 015 Merry Cherry Blossom! first caught my eye for the adorable pan design but the shade is stunning too. And I always love a good baked highlighter so the Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder in 010 Light Infusion came home with me too.

The Douglas Eyeshadows in 61 Sparkling Nude & 64 Antic Gold looked simple but totally up my alley. I also spotted the Trend It Up 3D Chrome Mousse in 010 and thought it looked interesting. The Nip + Fab Sculpted Eyeshadow Palette looked absolutely beautiful and swatched nicely, too – especially the mattes. And the MUA Heaven & Earth Eyeshadow Palette had a whole range of shades that looked right up my alley.

I somehow ended up with two new eyebrow pencils, the Nip + Fab Eyebrow Pencil in Ash Blonde and the Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Sculpting Crayon & Setting Gel but I always love trying new pencils out to see how they compare to my favourites.
And finally, for the drugstore makeup, I picked up two pretty nude-mauve lip options. The Trend It Up Ultra Wear Nude Pen Shine in 030 Shine looked like a lovely formula and the Collection Lip Colour in Berry Blush was a similar story. Creamy, comfortable and my kinds of shades.

I spotted a Birchbox pop-up store while in London and couldn’t resist putting together my own box. The system works by giving you a couple of options in each category – makeup, skincare & haircare. You pick two from makeup and skincare and one from haircare.
When I spotted the Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte in 105 in the line-up, I was very excited. The shade looks quite brown in the swatch but it looks much more flattering on, I find. I also chose the Spectrum Collections A10 Small Fan Brush. I took the opportunity to try out the very hyped up Sand & Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask, which I’ve actually been quite enjoying, and grabbed a mini of the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet, too. For haircare, the Oribe Aprés Beach Wave and Shine Spray was my pick of the bunch.
Phew, I’ve got to applaud you if you made it to the end of this post. It’s a little more confronting to see all of it put together in a post but I can’t wait to try out all kinds of new makeup and report back soon.
