As this post goes live, I’ll be up in the air on my way to Europe. And I’m sure that TBC’s regular readers are positively sick of hearing me go on about this trip but man, it feels like it’s been such a long time coming. For the next month and a bit, content will be going on pretty much as normal on TBC. But I know how much I love seeing what makes the cut for others when they travel, so wanted to show the bits and pieces that’ll be making the trip with me.
I’m never quite sure where I sit when it comes to makeup packing – to some, this might seem excessive and to others, it mightn’t seem like much at all. But I know what works for me and luckily, this group of products won’t take up much space at all in my bag. I had a bit of a lash lift disaster a couple of days ago, in lead up to the trip, and my lashes are essentially fried, so I’m not sure how much makeup I’ll actually be wearing on my eyes or even altogether. But I still wanted to bring a couple of things with me in case the mood strikes.
Anyway, here’s a look at the makeup and skincare that’ll be trekking around Europe with me over December and January.

I’m fairly attached to my base routine so I’ll admit this is probably where I was the most excessive with my packing. I put a couple of pumps of my latest favourite hydrating primer, the Marc Jacobs Perfecting Coconut Face Primer*, in a little pot so I’ve got it there on days where my skin’s really disliking the colder weather. My main everyday base will be my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue – easy to apply, just enough coverage and adds plenty of glow. I also poured a small amount of Maybelline’s Matte & Poreless Foundation into another pot for when I need a little more coverage and more of a matte finish. Two of my favourite bases, as of late.
For concealer under the eyes, Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid is my favourite little tube of brightening power and it’s on it’s last legs so I think I’ll be finishing this one off while I’m over there. And I’ve also got Tarte’s Shape Tape for a little more coverage under the eyes. I’ll be setting it all in place with RCMA’s No Color Powder (in my trusty little LM pot, as always) and Savvy’s CC Powder.
I also threw in the mini Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Rose Setting Spray* because I’m been absolutely loving how effective it is, not to mention how pleasant it smells.

The cheek products are a bit of a simpler story. For blush, I’m going with NARS Deep Throat, an incredibly easy to wear pink with a hint of peachy glow. For bronzer, this mini Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is coming in handy. And for highlighter, I couldn’t resist picking up the new Cover FX Perfect Light Highlighting Powder in Moonlight with me. It’s mini, it’s rose gold and it’s a gorgeous, easy to wear shade.

As I mentioned, my lashes are a little all over the place right now and it’s looking like it’ll be at least six weeks before we’ll be getting along again, so I’m not sure what I’ll be doing when it comes to daily eyeshadow and all of that. So I thought I’d just bring a couple of shades in case. In a little ABH quad palette, I’ve got Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma, Barcelona Beach & Grandstand as well as Colourpop’s Bel Air. They’re four simple but easy to work with colours. I’ve also been having a bit of a love affair with my newly repurchased Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze*. I think it’ll come in handy when I want something quick and easy.
For brows, I repurchased Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow Pencil to take along with me because the teeny nib makes it super easy to fill them in. Savvy’s Clear Brow Gel is my super easy brow gel pick. Just in case my lashes do decide to sort themselves out, I’ve included a little mini of Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara – a solid favourite that never lets me down.

Three lip products, that’s all I’ll be taking with me. And I’m very happy about it, to be honest. I always talk myself taking a bunch of different options with me when I travel, a glossy option, a bold option but we all know that all I’ll be wearing will be a mauve-y pink lip. MAC’s Lipstick in Syrup* is such a gorgeous, slightly sheer shade – perfect for every day. Rimmel’s The Only 1 Lipstick in Naughty Nude is similar but a little more pigmented and less mauve. And Jouer’s Longwear Liquid Lip Color in Tawny Rose is another favourite, when I feel like pulling out a liquid lip.

I won’t go too in-depth into my skincare routine because honestly, it’s all pretty run of the mill but here’s a peek at my choices, just in case you were interested. A lot of them have been decanted in other, easier to manage containers so they take up less space in my toiletries bag – I’m very glad I’ve been hoarding mini bottles all year as they’ve definitely come in handy now.
