I love a good palette when I’m doing my makeup in a rush. And I’m sure I’m not the only one who relies on an already-curated array of shades to work with, making it that much easier to throw together a makeup look. That’s why I keep so many of them hanging around in my drawers. Well, that and they’re just so damn pretty. And I can tell you, it was pretty much love at first sight when I got the press release about these soon-to-be-released beauties from Natio.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Natio’s quality in the past so couldn’t wait to swatch and test these two new beauties, that should be arriving in stores as I type. One full of blushes, another full of bronzers – both beautifully curated with a range of shades to suit anyone and everyone.
The blush palette is full of shades that are perfect for this Spring-Summer weather. Plenty of peaches, a couple of pinks and a hint of shimmer in some of the pans, too. Nothing too over the top when swatched, instead just adding a bit of a sheen to the cheeks. I’ve been reaching for the more neutral shades, personally, but even the shades that look a little brighter in the pan don’t apply too heavily to the cheeks.
Each of the shades are quite pigmented, so I’ve been building the colour, rather than loading up the brush all in one go. But paired with a fluffy cheek brush and a bit of patience, they all look beautiful on the skin. If you love these kind of peachy blushes, this palette would be an awesome addition to your collection.
The bronzer palette has one ‘highlighter’ shade, along with five bronzers – all varying in undertone and deepness. This means this palette should suit anywhere between pale and medium skin tones (there’s not a huge range of deeper shades in here). A couple of the shades a little too warm for me, but I’ve been mixing the top right and bottom middle shade for a healthy glow. The let down of this palette is the bottom right highlighting shade. It has quite a bit of glitter in the pan and although it doesn’t look quite as bad when blended in on the cheekbones, it still looks just a little chunky.
I was super impressed with these formulas, though. Often drugstore bronzers tend to be a little patchy but that wasn’t the case at all with these. They blend in beautifully and look invisible on the skin. The bronzers are a little more on the sheer side, compared to the blushes, which I honestly prefer. They’re perfect to build up slowly and provide a more natural, sun-kissed look to the skin.
Overall, these have exceeded expectations, yet again Natio have impressed. The formula isn’t quite up there with the high-end options in my collection but the price point is super reasonable. Retailing for $19.95, they are a great addition to your collection if you’re still a little lost when it comes to blush or bronzer. Or if you just love cheek palettes as much as I do…
Will you be picking these beauties up?
