Don’t get me wrong – I love the Australian beauty market. There are lots of awesome bits and pieces that we’re very lucky to have. But that doesn’t stop the occasional bit of FOMO when I see awesome products overseas that I can’t get my hands on here. I’ve previously spoken about the U.S. brands that I wish were easier to find in Australia but today, it’s all about the U.K. brands.
I’m certain that there are some I’ve missed but I’m definitely not as familiar with the UK beauty range as I am with the US, as I mentioned in my previous post. I’m excited, however, to be heading over there later this year to check out the UK beauty world a little more, first hand.
Read on to see what I picked up in my haul as well as a closer look at my favourite shopping service to get it all from there to here.
BUDGET BRANDS TO BUY IN THE U.K.
MUA / one of the longest-standing brands in the UK beauty world. Lots of affordable bits and pieces!
Natural Collection / a simple range of makeup that’s been around for ages, and it’s all just £2.
Collection / this is another super cheap range that has a bunch of hyped up products.
B. / Superdrug’s own brand of makeup and more.
Seventeen / a super affordable range of on-trend products – I’ve heard so many good things!
Makeup Revolution / well-known for providing affordable ‘dupes’ of hyped up makeup products.
I Heart Makeup / an off-shoot of Makeup Revolution with a similar range of cosmetics.
No7 / the Boots own-brand is extensive. There’s everything from makeup to skincare to bath & body.
Models Own / a super cute range of on-trend makeup and nail polishes.
Soap & Glory / sure, we have the bath & body stuff here but the makeup and skincare looks AMAZING.
Sleek / we have some things from Sleek here but there’s definitely a bigger range available in the U.K.
Boots Botanics / a Boots-owned line of dreamy skincare, body care and haircare.
Super Facialist by Una Brennan / another incredibly popular skincare brand.
HIGH STREET BRANDS TO BUY IN THE U.K.
Liz Earle / a skincare brand that’s been around forever. I only ever hear great things about them.
Kiko / seriously, make sure you check out this incredible brand with plenty of noteworthy products.
H&M / I wish I remembered to add some H&M beauty to my order. It all looks so dreamy.
& Other Stories / sort of like H&M’s bigger sister. A beautiful looking minimalistic beauty line-up.
And now, onto the haul. To grab all these beautiful bits from the UK, I got in touch with Shopandbox and took advantage of their awesome ‘personal shopping’ system. This time around, Yvonne was my lovely boxer. She was full of helpful brand recommendations and knew plenty about the sales and multibuy deals going on at the time. As I was less familiar with the UK exclusive brands, I had a bunch of fun trawling through the Boots & Superdrug websites finding bits and pieces I wanted to try.
I grabbed two concealers, this time around. Both of which I’ve tried before but ones that I definitely wanted to revisit. The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer* has had a cult following for quite some time now and Seventeen’s Phwoarr Paint* was an obsession of mine for quite some time. I liked them both in the past so I’m looking forward to trying them out again.
Somehow, things got a little crazy in the blush department in this order. After seeing a pic of the Essence Mosaic Blushes* a while ago, I knew I needed to get my hands on them. That pan detail is just too beautiful. I picked up All You Need Is Pink & Natural Beauty. I’d also heard things ages ago about the Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks in Rosey Glow* so for £2, I thought it was worth a go. Lastly, I added the MUA Blush in Bon Bon* to my order on the recommendation of my Boxer, Yvonne. I also couldn’t resist grabbing the Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer* – a product I’ve heard so many things about in the past.

Two eyeshadow palettes, both in pinky neutral territory and both very pretty to look at. I spotted the MUA Luxe Eyeshadow Palette in Enchanted* and immediately got some pretty serious Hourglass vibes so I couldn’t resist. The Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette in Iconic 3* caught my eye, too. It’s obviously their take on the UD Naked 3 Palette. When swatching both of these palettes I was actually really impressed with the quality so I’m excited to continue testing them out.

I also got a little carried away with the lipsticks. And in hindsight, they all look very similar. My first pick was the No7 BB Lips in Belle Pink*, a lightweight, balmy gloss that I’d heard bits and pieces about. Next on my list was another thing from Seventeen – this time, the Mega Matte Lipstick in Looking Buff*. My other Soap & Glory product that I couldn’t pass up was the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipstick in Berry Kissable*. I was also interested in trying out Tanya Burr’s range, which seems to of come a long way since it first launched. The Tanya Burr Lipstick in Sunday Walk* looked positively dreamy.
No7 Belle Pink, Seventeen Looking Buff, Soap & Glory Berry Kissable, Tanya Burr Sunday Walk.
As for skincare, I picked out two exciting things to try. The first was the Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Deep Cleansing Milk* which, of course, has just become available at Mecca. But nevertheless, I’m excited to give some of Soap & Glory’s facial skincare a try – I’ve heard awesome things. I also grabbed the Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil*. It sounds like a bit of a cult fave in the UK and I do love a good cleansing oil…
AND A GIVEAWAY FOR YOU…
And perhaps, the most exciting part of all. Shopandbox also wanted to pass on the love with a little giveaway of some UK beauty bits. I picked up some double-ups of some of the products I chose and can’t wait to share them with you. This giveaway is Australia & New Zealand only and I’ll choose a winner from the commenters on the 20th of July, 2017.
