I’m a big believer in investing in good quality makeup brushes. Using good tools can make all the difference when it comes to how your makeup ends up looking so it only makes sense to build up an arsenal of awesome brushes to help you along the way. But that doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune. Although there are a million and one brush brands in my collection, some of my go-to, everyday essentials are actually surprisingly easy on the bank account. There are four brush brands in particular that you need to check out if you’re looking to get your hands on awesome makeup brushes.
It’ll be no surprise to regular readers to see Models Prefer in the mix here. Every single Priceline 40% off sale, I find myself at the MP stand stocking up. They’re well-made, super soft and best of all, the range has everything you could possibly need. I’m a particular fan of the Dual Purpose range but I have plenty of favourites that I use every single day. I’ve even heard a rumour that these are made at the same place as the Sephora Collection brushes…
My favourites include the Models Prefer Dual Purpose 104 Powder & Bronzer Brush, the Models Prefer 103 Highlight & Contour Brush & the Models Prefer Dual Purpose 102 Shadow & Concealer Brush from the Dual Purpose range. I also love the Models Prefer Professional Airbrush Brush and the Models Prefer Professional Eye Crease Brush.
When I heard that there was a brush brand launching exclusively at Woolworths, I was a little sceptical but I have seriously been blown away by this range. I touched on the whole range in a blog post not too long ago but even since then, my love for this range has grown. They’re super soft, they feel incredibly well-made and best of all, they are crazy affordable. The range also really covers all of the bases with awesome complexion brushes and two easy-to-use eye brushes. The sponges are also amongst my favourites. Well worth a look next time you’re doing the grocery shopping.
Not only are the LGBF brushes great quality and very affordable, but the range also benefits an incredible cause. 12% of each sale goes towards confidence-boosting makeup workshops for those undergoing cancer treatment. They’re a little on the pricier side of brushes available at Priceline but they’re well worth it. The bristles are super soft and every brush I’ve tried has been incredibly high quality. The sets are also awesome value and great for travel. They’re also regularly on sale, so keep an eye out! You can read more of my thoughts on the range here.
I’ve been a long time lover of Ecotools brushes. You can go back to 2014 and find posts about some of my Ecotools brushes. But my love has been reinvigorated lately with a couple of new additions and a new look to the range. The range of eco-conscious tools covers all of your bases with single brushes and some handy travel sets. And, as expected, they’re soft, they wash really well and get the job done perfectly. The bamboo handles are a really lovely point of difference for the brand, too.
My favourites include the Ecotools Full Powder Brush*, which is perfect for setting under the eyes, and the Ecotools Micro Blending Brush*, designed for precise blending into the crease but I’ve actually been using it with concealer.
