This March & April favourites post has come around a lot quicker than I thought – this year seems to be really getting away from me. But still, as always, I’m excited to pass on my favourites for the last couple of months. Some of them won’t be a big surprise if you’ve been keeping up with content. But then again, a couple haven’t been getting the attention they deserve. Here’s a look at my favourites from the last two months.
Anyone who read my rave review on Thursday won’t be surprised. After wearing it pretty much non-stop since it arrived, I think it’s well and truly earned it’s place. Plenty of coverage, a beautiful matte finish and lasting power that impresses me more and more each time. I’ve fallen deeply in love.
Another solid favourite since I picked it up in the Priceline cosmetics sale. I’ve been reaching for this one so much on lazy days or minimal makeup days because it works with just about everything. Bringing a bit of warmth and glow to my complexion. Easily one of my favourite budget blushes around.
This has been on my wishlist since it first arrived in stores but I never got around to picking it up, I was very excited when I saw it in a goodie bag from a NYX event a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I’ve been having so much fun mixing and matching shades in the palette. The formula seriously packs a punch so I’m very happy I finally got a chance to try it out.
Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara
I picked this one up in the Priceline cosmetics sale too because I’ve heard rumours about it being a dupe for my fave, the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I’m not sure if it really lives up to that hype (will report back soon, though!) but for an everyday mascara, I’ve really been enjoying this. It does a beautiful job of really separating and defining the lashes and holds a lovely curl all day long.
I’ve been keeping things simple on the lipstick front lately, there have been plenty of new bits and pieces to try out but on days where I’m in a rush to get out the door, I swipe this beautiful mauve on and I’m good to go. The formula feels lovely and hydrating, while still being fairly long wearing and the shade is perfect for me.
This new nail polish launch from L’Oreal has been hotly anticipated and so when the whole range arrived it took me approximately an hour to get my other nail polish off and one of these colours on. Since then, I’ve been wearing a different shade each week, with Orange Triomphe making two (maybe three?) appearances. The formula is really impressive – easy to apply and lasts really well. But what’s particularly drawn me to these beauties is that they actually smell good too?
The sudden cold weather hit my hair hard over the last couple of months. It was starting to look pretty dry and straw-like but luckily, a good dollop of this hair mask each time I washed my hair has brought it back to life. I finished off my first tub and got started straight away on my second. Heavenly. I’ll be chatting about Natura Siberica even more on the site soon so keep an eye out!
It’s pretty much impossible to photograph but oh man, I’ve been in love with this one. I was so grateful for Go-To’s generosity of sending this through because the second I saw the launch I knew it had to be mine. I have been absolutely loving this since it arrived – it’s been working wonders for my skin and my hair and I think we’re going to be friends for a very long time.
Another shower saviour came in the form of this shower cream. Even the fact that it’s called a shower cream rather than a gel should tell you how moisturising this is. I’ve been trying to ration this out because it smells incredible but also leaves my skin feeling so soft but I get the feeling my boyfriend might be stealing it too…
This one’s been going hand-in-hand with my non-stop usage of EL’s Double Wear this month. From the very first try, I could tell I was onto something good with this sponge. Although, that’s true with the rest of this wallet-friendly range, too. Super squishy and super effective – all I look for in a sponge. I did mention that the colour ran a little bit at first but that seems to not be an issue anymore.
My random favourite for the month? Pinterest. I’m been on a bit of a pinning spree lately and have found it’s been really helping with inspiration even if it is a sneaky form of procrastination. It’s been awesome for finding beauty looks I like, interior ideas and most importantly, places around the world that I’m adding to my list for my trip at the end of the year. You can follow me here if you’re interested!
Now’s also the time to announce that I’m planning on jumping in the deep end and bring you Every Day May – a post. every day. for the whole month of May. I’ve been getting pretty slack with getting regular content up for the first part of this year so I needed something like this to kick me into gear. Get ready to see a lot of awesome content coming your way in the next 30-something days!
