For me, warm weather means fresh, dewy makeup, maybe bringing a little colour into my all-black-wardrobe and smelling fruity and floral. Truthfully, I’m all about my fruity floral fragrances all year round but Summertime is when I truly bring them out in force. This summer season I’ve had two fragrances in rotation – sitting front and center of my perfume collection – and a newbie has recently joined the ranks, which is quickly becoming a favourite for the warmer weather.
One of my favourite fragrances to transition from Spring to Summer, Dolce is a super feminine white floral with hints of musk and aquatic notes. Not only is the bottle absolutely stunning, it also lasts really well on my skin – which isn’t often the case with perfumes. This is the kind of fragrance that I think almost anyone could love – it’s simple, it’s fresh and it’s incredibly classy.
A new release from L’Occitane, to follow up their Fleurs de Cerisier fragrance from last year. It’s incredibly sweet and light, featuring Cherry Blossom as it’s main note but without it being too overpowering. There’s hints of florals, hints of fruits and comes together beautifully as a young and light-hearted scent. I can’t quite put my finger on what makes this one so special but I’ve quickly become obsessed.
The third fragrance is completely different from anything else in my collection – moving away from the classic fruity florals. It’s hard for an amateur like me to describe but it’s spicy while still being sweet. It still has a hint of floral and citrus to it but is a little more exotic – I’ve been loving reaching for this when I feel like mixing it up. It pretty much smells like a summer vacation in a bottle.
