Well, it would seem that I took my own advice after a week of recommending budget beauty options for you guys, and spent up big at the Priceline 40% off cosmetics sale. I don’t really visit Priceline anywhere near as much as I used to so I was long overdue for some new purchases to add to my collection. As always, I can’t wait to have a play with all of these newbies and report back ASAP.
I’d been meaning to try out a few new foundations and this one had been on the list for a while now. Luckily, there’s a shade that looks close to matching me and the matte and poreless claims sound pretty good to me. I’ve heard plenty of great reviews for this one and I tried it out yesterday, when I went out in the afternoon and so far, I’m very impressed.
Another foundation to trial and one that I hadn’t given much thought to in the past. But there was a shade that looked like a pretty good match and my past experience with MP bases has been pretty positive. From swatching it, I feel like the consistency is quite thin so I’ll be interested to see how this performs coverage-wise. I’ll have to report back on these two new base bits soon.
I’m a huge fan of The Body Shop’s alternative to these foundation-adjusting drops. In fact, I repurchased a bottle not too long ago, but as soon as I saw Australis were introducing their own offering, it went straight onto my wishlist. Can’t wait to play with this new release and see if it’s this slightly cheaper option is just as good.
I seem to be on a bit of a powder kick lately so I picked up this cheap and cheerful one from Savvy to try out. The brand is seriously under appreciated in my eyes so hopefully this lives up to my expectations. It’s a fairly simple loose, translucent powder designed for setting the face but for an awesome price.
This one was a repurchase because I’d hit such serious pan on my last one. It was practically unusable, as it had started to crumble, so a new one was definitely needed. I love this simple, slightly brightening powder for setting my foundation all over my face so I didn’t want to be without it.
A third powder product. This is one of the best sellers at Priceline for the year so I want to see what all the fuss was about. I don’t normally use overly yellow powders but I found that the banana shade was the only one I really liked in the brand’s contour kit so hopefully, it works just as well.
I love the Essence blush formula, as I’ve mentioned so many times now, so wanted to grab another to add to my blush collection. This time in a matte formula, that I hadn’t actually seen in stores before. Berry Me Up is a lovely neutral pink – totally up my alley. And the pan design was always going to win me over.
Another product that I mentioned in Budget Beauty Week, I’ve added another shade to my collection. The shade Bedroom Eyes has been on my radar for a while so I made sure to grab it when I saw it in stock. The NYX stand was understandably crowded at my local store so I didn’t get a chance to have a proper look at everything.
I mentioned in BBW that I loved the formula of these but the shade from the range that I previously owned just wasn’t one that I reached for much. Of course, I went for that classic nude-pink shade that I always reach for and quickly fell in love. I tried the formula out yesterday and it’s just as lovely and long-wearing as I remember.
And the final purchase came, again, from NYX. A stunning nude gloss in a formula that I already knew I loved, from previous experiences. This shade will certainly be feeling right at home in my already overwhelming collection of nude glosses but will be loved nonetheless.
What did you buy in the sale? Can’t wait to see your hauls!
