The Three Blushes That I Can’t Stop Wearing

The Three Blushes That I Can't Stop Wearing - Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, NARS Blush in Deep Throat, Essence Silky Touch Blush in Adorable

This year, I’ve really cut down my blush collection, making sure that all of the shades I’ve kept in the ranks are real winners for me. I’ve been left with a lot of super wearable colours, lots of neutrals and peachy pinks – I have a type, it would seem. But lately, I’ve still found myself reaching for the same couple on rotation. I’ve been in love with the simple & natural flush of colour and these three have been my go-to options.

My first favourite is also arguably my number one blush of all time. Originally, I didn’t see what all the fuss is about but now, as I favour the neutral blush, this is on high rotation. As I’ve mentioned before, if I don’t know what blush I want to wear, this is the one that ends up getting used. Pretty much everyone needs this one in their collection – the shade is perfect and the formula is incredible, too, which is why I have so many shades.

NARS Blush in Deep Throat

Another one of my all-time favourites, the perfect glowy, peachy pink. It never fails to make my complexion look a little more alive. There’s a lot of unique colours in the NARS line-up, including bright oranges and reds, but I think this one would pretty much work for anyone. It’s got less of the shimmer factor that Orgasm has so I find myself preferring this one. This is my favourite for days where I’m wearing a little more makeup but keeping it pretty simple on the eyes.

Sitting somewhere in-between the earthy neutral and the brightening peachy pink sits this cheap thrill from Essence. It’s a simple, subtle pink flush of colour, a particularly beautiful shade for pale skin tones, that’s pretty much impossible to go overboard with. It’s another no-brainer in my collection and a fraction of the price of the other two. These blushes are some of my favourites that you can find at the drugstore.

I adore how the Tarte blushes look, and I always enjoy my NARS blush, but I am so surprised with how great the Essence blushes are, I think my Essence blush is my most used, and it only cost me a few dollars!

  • I use very similar shades – always feeling peachy-pinks, nudes and bronzey-browns! Love Exposed – for sure my fave to pair with mauve-y lip shades. The essence blushes are still some of the best in the drugstore!

    • Totally agree – that’s why I love Exposed so much because I’m normally wearing those kinds of colours!

  • Essence blushes are so damn good. Autumn Peach by them is my holy grail!! I definitely need to go through my collection and clear it out too. Thanks for ze reminder x

  • What brush you use to apply the Tarte Exposed blush? I’m using a Zoeva brush at the moment, but don’t love it. Wondering if there is a better option?

  • Current favourites are Hourglass Mood Exposure,, Tarte Sweet and MAC Hip Whites from the Wet and Dry collection.
