10 Minute Makeup Routine

10-Minute-Makeup Lovely Me:ex BB Cream, Bare Minerals Stroke Of Light Eye Brightener, RCMA No Color Powder, Savvy CC Powder in Brightening, Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer, Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Riviera, Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette, Benefit Precisely, My Brow Eye Brow Pencil, Smashbox X Rated Mascara, Maybelline Full n Soft Waterproof Mascara

When everyone else is enjoying a lovely sleep-in on the weekend, I’m getting up and heading to work at my part time job. But on most mornings, I end up enjoying a little too much of a sleep-in myself, resulting in a mad rush to get to work on time. After plenty of practise, I’ve managed to perfect my 10 minute makeup look that doesn’t give away the fact that I’m definitely still half asleep. I jump in and out of the shower, grab some breakfast, quickly prep my skin with La Roche Posay’s Serozinc, followed with a bit of their Effaclar Duo – both morning essentials – and get started on the makeup.

Unsurprisingly, I reach for the base that takes no time to apply – the Lovely Me:Ex BB Cream, one that I don’t mention enough. A squeeze onto a big fluffy foundation brush, a quick buff into the skin and I’m onto the next step. For a brightened under eye, I swipe a little of my favourite Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Under Eye Brightener under each eye and quickly blend it in with my fingers. I set this down with the RCMA No Colour Powder and then grab a fluffy brush and the Savvy CC Powder in Brightening to set down the rest of my face.

Bronzer is an essential to make me look like a human being so my next step is grabbing my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and throwing some of that on my cheekbones and temples to add a bit of life back into my face. For no-fuss blush, I always reach for Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed because it’s simply impossible to stuff up – subtle & neutral but still adds a bit of somethin’ to my cheeks. For highlight, I reach for Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Riviera. It pairs beautifully with the blush and the shade of Riviera works beautifully on my pale skin and never looks over the top. If I’m really running late, this is the step that gets forgotten.

I grab a fluffy blending brush and throw one of the matte brown shades from the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette into my crease and through the simple champagne shimmer all over the lid. Making my brows behave is the step that probably takes the longest for me, especially as they’ve been misbehaving quite a bit lately but the Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil* has been great for adding shape and definition. I curl my lashes quickly (Kevyn Aucoin’s Eyelash Curler is my favourite) and throw on a coat of Smashbox’s X-Rated Mascara* – it separates and lengthens my lashes and also does a decent job of holding a curl. For the bottom lashes, I grab my Maybelline Full n Soft Waterproof Mascara and I’m out the door.

Once I get to work I normally apply some of Bobbi Brown’s Lip Balm* – my latest obsession. It makes sure I look just a little more put together. And that’s all there is to it – all this while eating a piece of toast, pretty impressive, I reckon.

  • I love the post.

  • Nice effort getting it down to 10 minutes!!!! I think I can do my makeup in 15ish minutes but I move pretty slow in the mornings haha. Definitely a good, easy to work with base, then a face palette with bronzer/blush/highlight, a sweep of light eyeshadow and lastly brows. Most of the time, there’s not a lot of good light in the morning so I never know how I actually turn out lol.
