August Favourites 2016

August Favourites - Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick, Bobbi Brown Corrector, Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil, Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Lip Color, Mecca Cosmetics Hands On Hand Cream

I’m keeping it short and sweet with August’s favourites – there’s been a bunch that I’ve been loving but I’m keeping it down to the best of the best. I’m currently on holidays from uni so I haven’t been wearing makeup as much for the last week or two and when I have, I’ve been reaching for the tried and true favourites.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick* –

Another month, another foundation I’ve been obsessed with. I’ve been loving the simplicity of striping it onto the cheeks and forehead before giving it a quick blend out – a satin finish and just enough coverage for the day to day.

Bobbi Brown Corrector* –

Uni holidays equal me staying up far too late watching Netflix so my under eyes have been very thankful for this peachy one this month. You only need the tiniest bit to work wonders and it wears so beautifully during the day – I set it down with powder and never experience creasing or cakiness.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil* –

I’m way overdue for some brow TLC at the moment so they’ve been needing all the help they can get. This pencil manages to be both quick and precise and it does a great job of really defining the shape of the brows.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Lip Color in Swag –

As I mentioned in my follow up post from my US haulthis has quickly become one of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas. The colour is a super flattering nude on my skin tone and it actually feels so comfortable on the lips. I can’t wait for these to launch in Australia so I can properly check out the range.

Mecca Cosmetica Hands On Transforming Hand Cream –

The winter weather has really been taking a toll on my skin but I’ve particularly noticed it on my hands. I’ve been applying a generous helping of this each night before bed and have started to see a huge improvement in my cuticles. I continue to be impressed with the bits and pieces I’ve tried from the Mecca range.

Atmos&Here Ivy Essential Knit Top –

This one’s a little random but my favourite fashion bit from the month has been the comfy knit from The Iconic in the background of the shot. It’s comfy and warm but also really flattering, I’ve found, and of course it’s in grey – my favourite. I got it a larger size so it’s just a little loose fitting.

  • Great favourites lovely! I haven’t tried any of these besides the goof proof brow pencil and it is great! I have also been loving the Precisely my brow if you get a chance to try that one as well! Hope you’re having a well deserved break from uni and enjoying it! x

    • I’ve been meaning to check out the thinner nibbed pencil, too – will have to get myself to a counter!

  • Oh that sucks! 🙁

Great bunch of favourites! I have also been loving the Mecca hand cream lately, it has such a lovely feel and beautiful scent, definitely one of my favourite hand creams to use before bed. That Bare Minerals lipstick is such a gorgeous shade! I’ll be sure to keep my eye out for them when they launch here x

  • Me too, actually, and I’m glad I gave it ago – seriously so good!

My under eye area is a mess though, lots of bumps, it is super dry and I have a deep set wrinkle under each eye so considering it’s consistency it makes me nervous as to whether it will work for me.

      • Hmm yeah, that makes it a little trickier! Maybe it’s worth heading in store if there’s one near you and getting them to try it on you? 🙂

        • Bernadette

I definitely need to do that. I’ve bee meaning to pick up a sample of the Josie maran foundation but I keep procrastinating haha.

          • hahah I totally get that!

          • Bernadette

I mean even today I was like hmm I should get a sample from mecca but I was like nahhhh I mean with summer close by, I tan so bloody easily i’ll probably be 3 shades darker after 2 beach trips and so the foundation won’t match me anymore haha

          • hahah aw you’re lucky you tan easily! I don’t tan at all! Pale life for me 🙁

          • Bernadette

It’s a blessing and a curse. I mean I have a draw full of foundations but shade wise everything has been iffy on me. I feel like back when I first started getting into makeup haha

          • Yeah, I totally know how you feel – I often have to mix shades up to get something that truly matches me 🙁

          • Bernadette

I’m thinking of getting little plastic containers from either ebay or shop miss a and pre-mixing foundations together. Right now I only have one little tub and when ever I mix up a correct shade batch I practically have to live out of it haha.

          • Oh that’s a good idea!

  • No, totally fair enough! 😛
