Models Prefer Make Me Blush Cheek Palette - Review and Swatches

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the Priceline-exclusive brand, Models Prefer. There are so many hidden gems in the range and they’re always right on trend with their new releases. Yet again, they’ve hit the mark with the brand new limited edition Models Prefer Make Me Blush Cheek Palette* that’s appearing in stores soon. Three easy-to-wear blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer? I’m on board.

The setup covers all your bases – a simple bronzer to add definition to the cheekbones (it has a little bit of glitter in the pan but it doesn’t really show up on the skin), a couple of blush choices – a nude-peach, a baby pink and a NARS Orgasm-esque peach-gold and, of course, a stunning champagne-gold highlight. I’m a huge fan of each of the blush shades – they’re all shades that I’d wear regularly and I think they’d all work well on a bunch of different skin tones. The bronzer can get a little muddy if I go overboard on my pale skin but would be fine for most people, I’d imagine. The highlighter has got to be my favourite part of the palette – the formula is great and the colour looks super flattering on my skin tone.

Most of the shades, particularly the bronzer, tend to kick up quite a bit of powder when you get into them with a brush. And although I was a little worried at first when I swatched the formulas on my hand, I was pleasantly surprised with how they performed when I applied them to the cheeks with a fluffy blush brush. They’re all fairly subtle, to begin with, but easily buildable. The two shimmer shades – the peachy-gold blush and the highlighter – are more pigmented and the formulas are a little easier to work with, I’ve found.

Launching in stores soon (hopefully, I haven’t been given a release date), this is definitely an awesome buy for $14.99 – particularly if you want a lot of options all-in-one or if you’re just starting to get into makeup or the three-step cheek routine. The formula hasn’t completely blown me away but it’s simple and effective – worth having a look at when it does appear in stores.

  • Ooh, this looks really pretty! I’m definitely a fan of MP, in fact I used to wear one of their blushes constantly a couple of years ago! This seems like a great release from them but I’ll probably give it a skip because I already have a lot of similar shades!

    • Their blushes have impressed me in the past so I was unsurprised I loved this one too but you’re right – it’s not a necessary purchase if your blush drawer is already overflowing…

  • This looks so great! Especialyl for the price. I’ve tried a Models Prefer Cream Blush before and I loooove that, so I’m most likely putting this on my wishlist x

  • This palette looks very nice, I’m digging the shades they chose. The price is not too bad either, especially for a beginner! x

  • Those shades look beautiful! Especially that highlight!! I am definitely keen on this one 🙂

  • So beautiful! It reminds me of a Nars palette! 😍 I’ll definitely be picking this up when it’s released. X

  • Oh really?! How strange :/ I find they do work better with a brush than when swatched with fingers!
