New Additions To The Bathroom

New Additions To The Bathroom - Natura Siberica Scrub, Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel, Antipodes Juliet Gel Cleanser, Avene TriAcneal Expert, L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil-In-Cream

Nothing can put me in a good mood quite as effectively as a warm shower, freshly washed hair and a solid skincare routine – in the morning it wakes me up and gets me going and each night it’s exactly the kind of time out I need before getting into bed so it’s no surprise that my drawers are overflowing with skincare and haircare to try out. Lately there have been a few particularly notable additions to the routine so I thought it was time to report…

Natura Siberica Exfoliating Face Scrub* –

Natura Siberica have just hugely expanded their skincare range in Australia and this new scrub is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I’ve been missing having a great exfoliator in the shower for a while now and this has happily filled the gap, it’s not overly harsh on the skin. The exfoliating particles don’t feel harsh or coarse at all on the skin but they still do an incredible job of making my skin feel brand new every couple of days.

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel –

This isn’t so much a new favourite as it is a rediscovery. A couple of weeks ago I suddenly remember how much I missed this stuff and as I was ~totally~ running low on cleanser (I wasn’t, I’m a crazy hoarder) I went out and grabbed a tube when I saw it was on sale. It’s just as good as I remember it. The formula starts as a gel which gradually turns into an oil as you rub it into the face, when you wet it it turns almost milky. It gets rid of every little bit of makeup and leaves my skin feeling so hydrating and happy.

Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser* –

Another cleanser that’s been added to the bathroom collection – I have serious issues. I’ve been reaching this primarily as a second cleanse, to use with my Clarisonic or on no makeup days when I don’t need to remove foundation and waterproof mascara. It’s become one of my gentle, hydrating cleansers for days when my skin is feeling a little grumpy.  Bonus: it smells incredible, too.

Avène TriAcnéal Expert* –

Any product that claims to help with blemishes is one that I’m willing to give a bit of time to. On days where my skin has been feeling a little temperamental (aka most of them) I’ve been reaching for this treatment particularly for my chin and jawline to keep spots from getting too aggravated. Unlike a lot of spot treatment products, this cream is gentle on the skin and feels more like a moisturiser than a treatment. It’s not one of those overnight wonder products but after having it in my routine for a couple of weeks I’ve experienced much less redness and hormonal spots tend to disappear quicker than normal.

L’Oreal Extraordinary Oil-in-Cream Nourishing Leave-In Cream* –

My hair’s been looking a little lacklustre at the moment – it’s been a while since my last haircut – so I’ve been trying my hardest to keep it hydrated and sleek. Running a bit of this through the lengths of my hair after I get out of the shower has been leaving it feeling much softer and I find styling it has been less of a chore. When I blow dry I add another bit to the ends for good measure, too. I was already a fan of the Extraordinary Oil so it’s no surprise that this got the thumbs up from me too.

  • The Antipodes cleanser was what I used to use in the morning before I switched to micellar waters. It’s beautiful and the smell is amazing. I found it did stain my clarasonic head which was annoying but I’ve replaced it now so it doesn’t matter 🙂

    • I love the smell of it! I was worried that it would stain my Clarisonic but I actually haven’t found it happening for me!

  • All of these sound amazing! Although I’m partial to chemical exfoliants, I couldn’t be without some form of physical exfoliation like once or twice a week! The Natura Siberica one looks great and I’ve just started trying some of their products! The Clarins gel sounds quite like the Oskia Renaissance cleansing gel – I really want to try both!

    • Yeah – I definitely prefer chemical ones now but I do really notice a difference when I give my skin a good scrub every once in a while! I am DYING to try the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel – top of my skincare to try list!

  • Yes.. Yes… Yes! That Avene though!
