June was a very busy month for me – I’ve been working 24/7 to get on top of uni work and blog posts so I’m ahead in time for my trip to NYC, I celebrated my 21st birthday a couple of days ago and I’ve also had a few incredible opportunities and events throughout the month for TBC. When it came to product favourites, it seems that this month was all about rediscovering bits and pieces in my stash as well as, of course, unearthing a few new discoveries.
It’s hard to miss the hype that surrounds this highlighter and although it’s been in my stash for a while, I always tended to overlook it. Lately I’ve been swishing it all over my cheekbones and I totally get it – it’s super glowy and golden while still being flattering on my pale skin.
When it comes to simple, subtle eye makeup, it doesn’t get much easier than this. I’ve been obsessed with throwing the lightest shade all over the eye, patting on a bit of the lid shade and adding definition to the outer with the brown. In a matter of minutes, it makes me look so much more put together and awake and on some mornings, that’s really all that I’m looking for.
On the mornings when I have a little more time on my hands I’ve been pulling out my Naked 3 palette. Until recently it was probably my least reached-for of the three but there’s something about the pinks and golds in this one that are speaking to me lately. My particular favourites lately have been Nooner & Liar.
I’m sure it’s no surprise that my latest liquid lipstick obsession has made it into this month’s favourites. This mauve pink shade has been my favourite from the range so far, for sure. The unique applicator makes them easy to work with, even for liquid lipstick noobs like me, and the formula feels comfortable all day long.
I mentioned a couple of days ago that I’ve had a few lightweight bases on rotation over the last couple of months but what I didn’t mention was the brush I’d been using to apply them all. Although I prefer a buffing brush or BeautyBlender for thicker bases, this one’s been a long-time favourite for whenever I reach for a more liquid-y formula.
I’ve had the Clarisonic in my routine for a good seven or eight months now but it’s still impressing me every single day. A one minute cleanse leaves my skin feeling less congested and so much smoother. When hormonal breakouts start to appear, words can’t describe how thankful I am to have this beauty in my life.
I’ve never quite understood the dry shampoo thing – it never actually got the job done on my hair before but now I’m beginning to think it was just the products I was using. It didn’t take long for Klorane’s dry shampoo to completely change my outlook. It’s been a lifesaver on days where I left it a little too long between washes, I’ve been well and truly converted.
It’s well and truly winter here now so I’ve been getting into the spirit with a super vampy nail polish pick. I’ve been very impressed with the formula of this one but the colour is what really got my attention – it’s a stunning deep blackened-red, more unique than I intially expected, perfect for this very chilly weather.
