There’s something exciting about trying out a completely new brand of makeup without hearing much about it beforehand, the industry is so saturated now with well-known, hyped up brands which means it’s often so hard for smaller brands to be heard but Gilded Cage Beauty’s stunning, simplistic packaging and beautifully designed formulas are a surefire way to start making a name for yourself. I was recently given the chance to try out their lipstick and eyeshadow formulas and thought I better pass the good news along – they’re both well worth checking out.
From a stunning line-up of shades, ranging from bold reds to sheer nudes, of course I chose this stunning neutral lip colour which Gilded Cage claim would complement any complexion and I reckon they’re right. On me, it’s a classic my-lips-but-better shade with a hint of peachiness that brightens the complexion. The formula is super creamy, gliding onto the lips, and even on this lighter nude shade I find the pigmentation is perfect to properly provide colour to the lips rather than just shine.
I don’t often reach for eyeshadows in a liquid form because often they’re a little fiddly to work with. The Gilded Cage offering comes with a handy doefoot applicator for precise application and I’ve found that blending it out with your finger provides the best result – even synthetic brushes tend to sheer out the pigmentation a little too much. The mousse-y formula does set rather quickly so I’d recommend working one eye at a time but once it’s set it won’t budge until it’s time to remove the makeup. And the slightly metallic taupe shade? Well, everyone knows that would be feeling right at home in my collection.
In my books, Gilded Cage Beauty have started off with two wins and I’m excited to try out a little more from the range to see how it performs.
Have you tried anything from Gilded Cage Beauty?
