When one of your favourite makeup brands collaborates with your favourite beauty Youtuber, you know it’s going to be good. When they come back from round two? Well, that’s just incredible. I was over the moon when I heard that Jaclyn Hill would be expanding the Champagne Pop family and might’ve cried (ok, I definitely cried) when a package arrived on my doorstep with everything inside. The collection won’t be launching in Australia for a little while but I wanted to get swatches up and let you know that yes, you do need everything.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette* –
Three blushes, two highlighters and a whole lot of pretty. Everything about this palette is luxurious – the packaging, the formulas and the shades.
Champagne Pop returns in all it’s golden-pinky-peachy glory along with a newbie, Prosecco Pop, a true golden glow. On my pale skin, both are quite intense shades, they’re not for the fainted hearted. Champagne Pop already appeared quite golden on my skin but Prosecco Pop is even more of a yellow gold, probably more suited for those with medium skin tones but when I really want to glow, I’m sure it’ll be getting some use.
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with the Becca Mineral blush formula so two new shades, and a new Luminous Blush shade were welcomed with open arms. Rosé Spritz, the luminous blush is a stunning peachy pink with golden shimmer – a stunning bright cheek colour that’s right up my alley. Amaretto is a matte toasted almond shade, as Becca calls it, and Pamplemousse is a matte warm, bright coral-pink. I was a little hesitant that Amaretto would be too dark on my skin tone but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it works, it adds subtle warmth and definition to the cheeks. Pamplemousse is, again, a shade I’ll be getting a lot of use out of.
I’d say that although the palette is all-in-all better suited for medium to dark skin tones pretty much anyone could use the shades, especially if you use a light hand when applying the highlighter shades. The packaging is stunning and it’s definitely going to be one of my most prized makeup possessions for years to come.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eye Palette* –
I knew I was going to love this Champagne Collection palette from the second I first saw it. The Becca eyeshadow formula is a bit of a silent achiever, not many people talk about it but the Ombre Nudes palette is seriously incredible and this follows that same pattern.
The lightest shade, Chardonnay, is quite a yellow-toned highlight shade and although at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, once I applied it I was won over. Champagne Toast is the stunner of the palette – bright beautiful peachy light gold that is stunning all over the lid and complements the other shades in the palette perfectly. I fell in love with Cordial straight away, these matte rosy-mauve shades are always going to be a hit with me. It looks stunning blended into the crease. Cognac is a warm-toned camel shade that I’ve been applying on the outer third of the eye. And finally, Bordeaux is a beautiful chocolate-y brown – ideal for the lash line or for additional smokiness in the outer section of the eye.
This palette is such an awesome all-rounder – they’ve done a great job of picking shades that everyone could get along with.
Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector – Powder*, Cream* & Liquid* –
It was such a great idea to extend the original Champagne Pop shade into the cream and liquid lines – I recently gave my thoughts on all three formulas and in the Champagne Pop shade, they’re just as gorgeous.
How much gushing can I fit into just one blog post? Becca impress me time and time again with the products they bring out. They’re always on trend with new releases and the formulas always live up to the hype. The Champagne Glow collection launched in the U.S. a couple of days ago and is looking to launch in Australia on the 7th of July – start saving your pennies now, I promise you’ll fall in love…
