Four Lip Product Picks For Valentines Day

Four Lip Picks for Valentines Day - Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick, Rimmel Provocalips, Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss, Sephora Cream Lip Stain

Although I’m really not much of a Valentines Day celebrator, I will take just about any excuse to wear a bright, pink lip. I might even throw one this Sunday even though my plan is to lie around on the couch watching Netflix after a long day at work (it’s an exciting life I lead…). And while you still have a week to prepare, here are some of my picks for the ultimate Valentine’s Day bright lip.

The No-Fuss Bright Lip –

The new Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick* line is seriously quality stuff (let me know if you want a little swatch post) and my early favourite from the line up is 300 Listen Up!, a bright fuchsia. The formula is creamy and so easy to apply and feels lightweight and comfortable on the lips. A touch up might be required after dinner, though.

The Actually Comfortable Liquid Lip –

I find that liquid lipsticks can often start feeling dry and flakey after a couple of hours but the Sephora Cream Lip Stain actually goes the distance. They apply like a cream before setting down to a matte and not budging at least until your next big meal. I have a couple of shades in the collection but my pick for this occasion would be Strawberry Kissed.

The Kiss-Proof, Dinner-Proof Lip –

Each time I pull out one of the Rimmel Provacalips*, I’m amazed with just how well they last on the lips. They’ve made it through burgers, they’ve made it through ice cream and they do it all without flaking or feeling uncomfortable on the lips. The bright pink, Little Minx, is such an awesome shade but if you’re after something a little more subtle and mauve-y, my pick is I’ll Call You.

The Ultra Glossy Lip –

If glossy lips are more your thing, it doesn’t get much more intensely pigmented and shiny than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss. The shade I own, Petal, applies with the pigmentation of a liquid lipstick in one swipe but stays gloriously glossy. It smells like caramel and lasts surprisingly well – it’s easily one of my favourite gloss formulas.
