Since hauling the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector* a week or so ago, a day hasn’t gone by where it hasn’t been patted onto my under eyes. And I’ll tell you right now, I’m in love. Normally I wouldn’t be so quick to profess my love on the internet but when you know, you know.
The Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector is designed, not as a concealer but as one step before concealer. It’s brightening, correcting and priming – everything I need when it comes to making my under eyes look a little more alive. The packaging is beautiful, it fits with Becca’s classy and classic style perfectly, it was actually the first thing that convinced me I needed this product because the peachy lid was just too pretty.
The formula comes in one, brightening shade with enough salmon tones to counteract the darkness under the eyes but not enough to look stark and strange with it on. On my pale skin, I find that I can get away with it on it’s own but I’m not sure if that would be the case for those with darker complexions.
The product is really creamy but still quite thin. I use my fingers to pat it in under my eyes and I find that it just melts in beautifully, reaching just the right kind of texture needed for the job. It blends in so seamlessly into the skin that it’s really just your skin but better. The tiniest bit provides quite a bit of coverage while still brightening and it leaves behind a slightly tacky feeling, this is the case because you’re meant to be applying your concealer over the top. On most days since trying out this product I haven’t actually felt that I’ve needed much concealer over the top of the corrector and it still works just fine if you set it with a loose powder.
One of the things that surprised me the most about this was how well it primed the area and actually put an end to creasing and cakiness. I’ve struggled with very fine lines under the eyes now and then and it never looked quite right but because this is so lightweight and blends in so nicely I’ve found that the area always looks flawless. It sets down well with powder and continues to look amazing for the whole day.
Talk about a rave review, I really haven’t heard enough about how awesome this product so consider this a public service announcement – this is definitely one to be checking out soon.
