I’ve been on a bit of an eyeshadow buying spree lately and this Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette was one that I had my eye on since the very first sneak peeks. The colour selection was seriously gorgeous and my previous experience with ABH shadows made me comfortable enough to take the plunge.
I’ve been playing with the palette for a little while now and I’ve fallen deeply in love – the amount of different looks you can create with this palette makes it really worth the buy. The formula of each shade is lovely, buttery and smooth and they all blend beautifully on the eyes. Normally palettes such as this where the shades aren’t arranged from lightest to darkest bother me but this one was designed to work in quads, so that the top two shades worked with the two shades below them and I’ve been working with this philosophy while applying it every morning. It totally works, the shades complement each other beautifully.
Pink Champagne – the prettiest rose golden glitter, I wanted to pick this one up when I was in the U.S. but it was sold out. It definitely lives up to the hype.
Metallic Plum – a plummy brown shade that looks beautiful in the outer corner of any slightly purple-y eye look.
Self Made – a gorgeous warm-toned gold, this shade is right up my alley.
Witchy – taupe brown with a bit of shimmer to it – really lovely all over the lid.
Blush – a light champagne shimmer with a duo chrome pink to it. It’s much more complex than I was expecting it to be.
Blossom – a pink shade that looks beautiful in the inner corner.
Buttery – the perfect yellow beige to apply all over the lid to start off a look and neutralise the redness on my eyelids.
Deep Purple – although it’s unlikely that I’ll get a lot of use out of this on the day to day, I was immediately drawn to this royal purple.
Treasure – I can never have enough of these champagne-y shades for brown bone or inner corner highlighting.
Hot & Cold – more of a warm bronze than Self-Made in real life and probably my favourite from the whole palette.
Sherbert – similar to MUG’s Peach Smoothie, I’ve been wearing this one in the crease to create definition & warmth.
Isla – the other wild colour from the palette but really beautiful as an accent colour in the center of the lid.
Spirit Rock – a matte black with purple and blue glitter – it looks much prettier in the pan than it does when swatched but it’s still useful to have a matte black in the palette.
Hot Chocolate – a beautiful, buttery matte brown.

Overall, I’m incredibly happy I jumped on the ABH Eyeshadow Palette bandwagon – the colour is the perfect mix of neutral shades that I wear every day and a few ones that are pushing me out of my comfort zone a little. A worthy addition to my embarrassingly large palette collection.
