There’s something about a bit of rose gold swept across the eyelid, a little bit different (compared to my very overdone bronze-y lid) and a little bit sophisticated. I’ve been reaching for some rose gold shades in my stash for a few weeks now so I thought it was worth rounding them up some of my favourites into one post to give you a good idea of where to start if you feel like bringing a bit of rose gold into your life and onto your eyelids.
Bloom’s Eye Shadow in Whisper* – It may look a little underwhelming in the pan but this is the perfect, sheer champagne wash all over the lid. If I need something super easy and quick, I’ll just throw this on and get to work with a few coats of mascara.
Maybelline’s ExpertWear Shadow in Nude Glow – Another single shadow that I’ve been loving. It’s a truly gorgeous gold shade with a hint of pink. The wear isn’t anything to write home about but if you can get your hands on it, it’s an awesome introduction to rose gold.
Inglot Eyeshadow in 397 – I mentioned my new Inglot duo recently (and even included a few dupes in there) but it’s worth mentioning again – 397 has been a favourite thrown all over the lid with a bit of the darker shade in the duo in the outer corner.
Makeup Geek In The Spotlight Foiled Eyeshadow – This one has been a favourite since it first arrived. A seriously sheeny soft pink that looks gorgeous no matte how you wear it, I’m a particularly fan of popping this one in the inner corner.
Makeup Geek Cosmopolitan Eyeshadow – A little deeper and less metallic than In The Spotlight but it’s just as pretty. This gets a workout when I’m feeling like playing with warmer tones.
Makeup Geek Grandstand Foiled Eyeshadow – This may not look like the others in the pan but when it’s blended out a little, it sheers out into the perfect rose gold. This is easily one of my favourite shadows from Makeup Geek because it can be worn as a built up bronze or a slightly more sheered out rose.
Napoleon Perdis’ Multi Purpose Illuminator* – Originally, I had this in my highlighter drawer and loved dotting it onto my cheekbones but lately it’s been in my cream eyeshadow drawer. It’s super creamy and easy to work with and wears really well.
By Terry’s Ombre Blackstar in Frozen Quartz – These Ombre Blackstars always get the job done. Frozen Quartz is the most pink of the bunch but it looks so unique and special on the eyelids either alone or as a base for other shades.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rose Gold – Another handy stick that gets a serious workout simply because it’s so easy to work with. It looks more pink on the lids than it does in the swatch below but the formula of these sticks are seriously incredible.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow in Rio De Rose Gold – Another one that’s super easy to work with. It can be applied heavily for a serious dose of pigment or can be sheered out for the lightest wash of colour.
