Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight

Since launching her own brand in 2013, Charlotte Tilbury has been making some serious waves in the beauty world and it’s easy to see why when you look at her gorgeous array of products and read the glowing reviews all over the internet. It’s been a while since I posted about my Beautylish haul but have been trialling the products on and off since and I thought it was time to weigh in on one of the most talked about make-up products from the line, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow.

Both powders have a seriously dreamy formula. Soft and buttery and completely easy to blend seamlessly into the skin. I often reach for the Models Prefer Highlight & Contour Brush because, as it’s name would suggest, it’s small tapered bristles make it perfect for the job. After using the sculpt shade I often go in with a big fluffy brush to blend it out a little more to make sure it’s not looking harsh.

My initial concern with this palette was whether the sculpt shade would be too warm to actually contour with, which was my intention, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely not the most cool-toned shade but it still looks natural on my fair skin. I’m careful to tread lightly and build up the colour slowly to make sure it doesn’t suddenly go a little too orange. When done right, it creates a subtle contour, which is what I’m after. If you personally go for the super intense, glam contour then this might be a bit of a let down for you. What really surprised me was just how much I love the highlighter shade. That was definitely love from the first application and I often reach for it even if I’m not contouring that day. It creates the perfect golden sheen on my cheekbones without a trace of noticeable, chunky glitter.

If you’ve been eyeing off the palette for a while now, I can wholeheartedly recommend taking the plunge if you’re in the mood to treat yourself (this thing costs a pretty penny) and if what you’re after is an everyday palette that will add the illusion of killer cheekbones while still looking natural.
Is the Filmstar Bronze & Glow on your wishlist? What are your go-to contour shades?
