Here comes the second part of this completely ridiculous haul from the United States, if you haven’t checked out the first installment where I talk all things Sephora, make sure to check it out here! In this installment there’s MAC, there’s Anastasia Beverly Hills, there’s a LOT of drugstore and there’s a few other bits and pieces…
Lipstick in Peach Blossom – Entirely convinced by ViviannaDoesMakeup and liking that is was similar but still different from my fave, Patisserie, I was very keen to take this one home. ($16USD, $36AUD)
Lipstick in Speak Louder – I also wanted to pick up a brighter shade so I went for the bright pink, which is admittedly similar to Lustering but I like it all the same. ($16USD, $36USD)
Sized To Go Pigment in Vanilla – Although I really wanted the Tan pigment, I instead picked up this teeny tiny pigment in the shade Vanilla after hearing so many good things about it. ($10USD, $18AUD)
Cream Colour Base in Shell – KathleenLights raves about these creamy highlighters and it was love at first swatch with the shade Shell. I don’t have too many cream highlighters so this’ll be a good little learning curve. ($21USD, $36AUD)
Mineralise Skin Finish in Lightscapade – I’ve had my eye on these ones for so long so it was high up on my list of things to grab when I was over in the States and it certainly hasn’t disappointed! ($32USD, $47AUD)
MAC 217 Blending Brush – I know I didn’t need any more eye blending brushes but I couldn’t resist possibly the most talked about eye brush on the Internet. ($24USD, $37AUD)
MAC Half Lash Curler – My mum was saying she wanted to try an eyelash curler so I thought this would be a good choice for her as it’s a little easier and safer to use. And then, of course, I picked one up for myself too. ($21USD, $28AUD)
MAC Sized To Go Prep + Prime Fix+ – This was another thing that I’ve heard a stack about, so when I saw this mini size, I thought it was worth a go. ($10USD, N/A in AUS)
Laura Mercier Un Été À Ibiza Face Illuminator in Indiscretion – I went to Macy’s to swatch this beauty, fully expecting them to be sold out like everyone else but surprisingly, they had 9 in stock so I didn’t miss my chance. This thing is seriously an artwork.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Quad in shades Touch of Lilac, Amber, Dusty Rose & Birkin – Unfortunately a lot of the stuff I was after at ABH was sold out for the time that I was there but I was still keen to get some eyeshadows. I settled on these four shades although there are still a few in the line that have my eye… The formula of these is super impressive and I’m glad I spent the money on them!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss in Petal – They didn’t have the Liquid Lipstick shades I wanted but they did have this GORGEOUS lip gloss. It smells like the Glasshouse Tahaa candle and has crazy intense pigmentation. I ended up wearing this a lot while I was over there, too.
I also picked up a backup of my Brow Wiz as they were doing a gift with purchase over a certain price and I thought that the Clear Brow Gel was a fairly reasonable gift!
L to R: Laura Mercier Indiscretion, ABH Touch of Lilac, Amber, Dusty Rose, Birkin, Petal
I was very excited to head to Bath & Body Works and stock up on my favourite scent, Sweet Pea. This scent reminds me of my first trip to America when I was 14 and I’ve loved it ever since. I also dropped into the Birchbox store in Soho to make my own little box up (it was so much fun, I’ll admit) and also into the & Other Stories store to try out some of their range. The hand creams and nail polishes caught my eye.
Perhaps my favourite experience while I was over in NYC was going to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab and making my own custom lipsticks. It was SO much fun and it’s so cool that I now have two completely personalised lipsticks. I’ll have a full post up about the experience soon, hopefully!
Here’s where the serious craziness begins…
L’Oreal True Match Foundation in Natural Ivory – It’s frustrated me for SO long that Australia doesn’t carry my shade in this range and when I got to America, I was actually overwhelmed with the choice of warm, neutral and cool toned shades. I ended up going for Natural Ivory and it seems to work well.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 101 Classic Ivory – This has been getting veeeery hyped up in the beauty community so I knew I wanted to give it a shot. So far, so good – I really like how this looks on the skin!
Maybelline Master Conceal Concealer in 10 Fair – I was super intrigued by all of the Maybelline things that hadn’t made it to Oz yet, this one really got my attention.
L to R: L’Oreal True Match, L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte, Maybelline Master Conceal
Milani Rose Powder Blush in Tea Rose – How flippin’ pretty is this blush? I’ll admit I bought it for the design but it’s also a really, really nice blush!
Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty’s Touch – Another seriously gorgeous design, good on you Milani.
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny – This was ridiculously cheap and I’ve heard plenty of people rave about it so I’m excited to see how it goes.
L’Oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator in Ice – These launched while I was over there so I went on the hunt but I couldn’t find any of the other shades, unfortunately. This has been getting mixed reviews so I’m very interested.
Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in Bella Caffé – I have another from this range which I really like so I thought I’d grab another one in a deeper neutral.
Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow in Nude Glow – I’m not sure what it was that drew me to this eyeshadow in particular but I’ve tried it since then and it’s a lovely rose gold shade.
No7 Fanomenal Lash Serum – I saw this sitting there and thought it was worth a try. I’ve always been keen to buy a lash serum but they’re all so expensive. This one was $10ish! I’ll have to remember to report back in a few weeks…L to R: Milani Bella Caffé, Maybelline Nude Glow
Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in HD Pink Sapphire – I’m not normally a fan of glosses with glitter in them but I liked the look of this one, for some reason.
Maybelline Colour Elixirs in Breathtaking Apricot and Celestial Coral – I am truly in love with these glosses so I knew I’d end up picking up a few of the shades that haven’t come over to Australia. Both of them are seriously gorgeous, I only wish I bought more…
Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in Pink Pout – EssieButton has mentioned these before and the shade range looked pretty and I am definitely impressed – it feels really nice and nourishing on the lips.
No7 Shine & Tint in Sultry – I swatched this one randomly and was really surprised by the texture and the colour so into the basket it went…
Wet n Wild Megalast Lip Colour in Pinkerbell, Cherry Picking & Just Peachy – I hear so much about these that I knew I’d have to pick them up. So far, I’m not quite sure what to think of them as they are quite stiff but the colours are admittedly gorgeous.
Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched – Purely to test the difference between the U.S and Australian versions…
L to R: Revlon HD Pink Sapphire, Maybelline Breathtaking Apricot, Maybelline Celestial Coral, Almay Pink Pout, No7 Sultry, Wet N Wild Pinkerbell, Wet N Wild Cherry Picking, Wet N Wild Just Peachy
My last purchase was actually a birthday gift from my parents after finding this GORGEOUS Lauren Ralph Lauren bag for a great price. I’d been after a tan handbag for a little while and this one is sooo perfect!
ALRIGHT. That’s it. Congratulations if you got this far. That’s all of the things that came home with me from the United States. I am a crazy, crazy person and my wallet has run off into hiding after it’s overuse over the last month or so. I hope you enjoyed having a peek into my shopping bags, and I promise I’ll shut up about NYC soon – back to regular posts on Thursday!
