I love trying out new skincare. Something about it is just so satisfying to me, but I also love having a good little routine that works no matter what when I need my skin to look good. For the last few weeks I’ve had a solid routine going which has been making me skin look and feel like a million dollars. Here are some new additions to my routine that have really been making the difference.
L’Occitane Cleansing Oil* – It was only recently that I was talking about the 3 cleansers I had in my bathroom. Well, make that 4. This cleansing oil from L’Occitane is seeeriously luscious. I’ve gotten into the habit of giving my skin a really good massage for a minute or two with this each night and I’ve been really surprised with how quickly and easily it improved the look of my skin. It takes off all my make-up well, including waterproof mascara and leaves my skin feeling really hydrated and supple, perfect for those with drier skin types. It’s got quite a strong fragrance to it which I enjoy, but is something to watch out for if you’re sensitive. This one isn’t hitting counters until July but it’s worth the wait.
Botani Skincare Acai Berry Active Antioxidant Serum* – My skincare routine has been missing a really good oil, lately, so I’m glad I got the chance to try this one out. First up, it smells delicious. So good. There are a lot of claims behind this new product to the range, and it’s full of great ingredients but it comes down to this – applying a few drops of this serum to my skin has been making my skin look brighter and more healthy, which is all I can ask for in a skincare product. When my skin’s playing up and breaking out I swap this out with rosehip oil for a few nights but if I just need a bit more hydration this is my number one.
L’Occitane Peony Perfecting Cream* – Now this one isn’t out until early August, but I thought it was worth talking about it now considering I’m SO in love with it (I’m truly sorry for being such a tease). Who would’ve thought slathering on some face cream every night could be such an enjoyable experience? The littlest dollop of this has been the last step in my skincare routine, instantly moisturising and calming down the redness in my face. This is another product that’s playing a role in how glowy my skin has been looking lately. My skin feels so soft and luscious after applying this, it’s a struggle to stop massaging it in. If it’s a great, nourishing night moisturiser that still feels lightweight that you’re after, make sure you get to a L’Occitane store in August.
Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Eye Serum* – As you can see, I’m a very lucky beauty blogger who is spoilt rotten. I was so happy that Elizabeth Arden got in touch with me about getting a skincare and makeup consultation at their counter in Melbourne and try out a few things from the brand. This is the thing I’ve been loving the most. Now, I’m being serious here – this serum has gold flecks in it. I’m not sure why but I know that I totally love it. Beyond that exciting point, the tiniest little dot of this feels so nourishing and cooling on the under eyes and it definitely makes the difference come morning. I can see this making a huge difference on those with more mature skin than me, too.
Although in the past, I’ve been more of a drugstore skincare girl I can definitely appreciate the finer things in life and I think my skin’s appreciating them too.
What are your favourite skincare splurges? Any drugstore alternatives I should try?
