You’re right – it has been a relatively short amount of time since my last Foundations Files post but I’ve been getting a huge amount of questions over on Instagram about what I thought of the new Models Prefer Argan Infusion Natural Foundation (not available online yet, it would seem) that a post needed to be written quick smart. I’ve only had the foundation for a little over a week, since the Priceline sales drew me in, but I’ve been wearing it almost every day and making sure I gave it a good go before talking about it.
I personally really like the packaging – squeezy tubes are easy and I’m a fan of all things black packaging so that gets the thumbs up from me. I got the lightest shade Shell which is a pretty good match for me, perhaps a little bit too dark, so I’m careful to blend it down my neck.
Most days I’ve been applying this with my trusty Real Techniques Buffing Brush which has been doing an alright job but it can take a little bit of effort to blend it out completely. It says on the tube that it’s buildable medium to full coverage, I’d be very impressed if I managed to get this up to full. It lets my natural skin shine through, freckles and all, but still makes everything look a little nicer so I’d say it was medium coverage at best.
It definitely adds a serious glow to my skin when I first apply it, I tend to set it with powder which makes it look less full on but still lets the dewiness through. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin, which is always nice. It cakes a little around the nose after a few hours of wear but for the most part looks super natural on the skin and lasts really well throughout the day. It’s one of those foundations that looks better from a distance, I think.
For drier skinned girls I can see this being a great pick – it’s a little bit glowy and also has a bit of a moisturising factor which won’t go astray. For oily skinned girls I’d recommend being a little wary. If I don’t set my t-zone things can end up looking a little less glowy and a little more oily by the end of the day.
So if you’re on the drier side of things that this is definitely a good one to try out from the drugstore, I’ve got to say I’m impressed with the products that Models Prefer bring out every now and again. There’s a powder and a concealer in the new Argan range too, I believe. I can’t say it’s beaten out my favourite Innoxa foundation for the top foundation rank but it’ll certainly get a lot of use on those drier skin days.
Does this sound like one for you to try?
