Deep down, I’m well and truly an eyeshadow palette girl – how can you say no to having the colours all lined up in a row, ready for you? But recently I’ve been pulling out some single shadows and I’ve been loving it. Here are five drugstore shadows that have been gracing my eyelids quite a bit, recently.
Rimmel Glam Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Backstage –
You’re probably sick of hearing about this one if you’re a regular reader as I mention it all the time. But there’s no doubt that it’s a good’un. A beautiful taupe-y brown that looks gorgeous by itself all over the lid or with a bit of extra smoke in the outer corner. I love this one so much that I went and bought another shade from the range, Smokey Quartz, quite recently.
L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush –
Unfortunately unavailable in Australia but I couldn’t help but mention it. You can see in the swatches below that this stuff is intense. But this deep rose gold somehow looks quite multidimensional on the lid. Bronzed Taupe is another that I got from the US – equally shimmery and gorgeous.
L’Oreal Color Riche L’Ombre Pure Eyeshadow in Café Saint Germain –
One that is available in Australia and another that I love. Although the texture is stiff in the pan, once you get some on the brush and get to blending the shadow looks amazing. Cafe Saint Germain is a beautiful purple tinged taupe.
the Bronze –
Ah the old fave… I’ve been reaching for this quite a bit recently, after a while of it sitting in my draws forgotten but there’s no doubt that it’s the perfect base for a bronze toned eye. My pot has a serious dint in it, as you can see. I’ve got four Colour Tattoos in total and love them all.
Chi Chi Baked Eyeshadow in Beautiful Day –
Beautiful Day is the perfect every day champagne shadow, but I’ve been collecting a little collection of these shadows with Crazy in Love and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun also hanging around. The formulas of all of them are completely fuss free and the entire shade range is calling my name…
