I’ve been at it again – my bank account has taken another beating and some very pretty make-up has landed on my doorstep. My Shop and Box order that I placed around a month ago finally got to me as well as some very luxe things from Beautylish and basically yesterday was the best mail day ever.
Let’s start with the goodies that arrived from my boxer, Lynn, through Shop and Box. It all started with the Marc Jacobs Sky-Liner Seven Piece Petite Highliner Collection. After seeing swatches on The Beauty Look Book I knew it was just what I needed, even though I rarely reach for eyeliner. Each colour is gorgeous and the swatches I did on my hand last night lasted really well. I also wanted to pick up some Benefit things, I just can’t stomach the Australian prices so I picked up Hoola and the Rockitude Lip & Cheek Kit. The kit was mainly to try out the blush but I also don’t mind an excuse to try out the Benetint and High Beam that also come inside, if I like the blush enough I’ll be sure to purchase the full size at some point. The NARS Creamy Concealer in Chantilly has evaded me in Australia for an absolute age so I popped it into my order from the US for a slightly cheaper price, seeing as I’m a big fan of the shade Vanilla. The last bit from Sephora was a Tarte Amazonian Butter lipstick in the shade Pink Peony, I was originally after a different one that was on clearance but it was sold out so I chose this one instead. The final little bit from my Shop and Box order was a Tom Ford Lips & Boys lipstick, I simply had to. I was originally after Julian but when Tom Ford stuffed my boxer around a little bit I settled for Giacomo, which was another shade I was after anyway. My first TF lipstick and I’m already terrified of hurting the little indent on the bullet.
Overall, I really enjoyed the experience I had with Shop and Box and would happily recommend the service to others, the communication is great with your boxer and they really do go above and beyond the call of duty to get you yours things, my boxer Lynn was completely lovely from start to finish!
After seeing the post on Sleep and Water about her experiences with Beautylish and those delectable photos of all that Charlotte Tilbury I decided it was finally time to take the plunge and try out some things from a brand that I had heard so much about, I bet you can guess my spending ban hasn’t been going too well. My experience with Beautylish was seriously impressive – I ordered on Monday and it arrived on Friday with a little hand written note and everything.
I ended up getting the Colour Chameleon in Amber Haze (it’s designed for brown eyes but the colour was too gorgeous to pass up), the Powder & Sculpt brush after hearing far too many a blogger rave about it, a lipstick in Coachella Coral, a blush in Love Glow and of course, the much hyped Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I won’t actually get to play with the Filmstar Bronze & Glow until after Valentines Day as it was a present from my boyfriend, so cruel. Everything is just as beautiful as I thought it would be and I can’t wait to test everything out, I feel sure all of these products will be popping up again soon around these parts.
