I’ve been going a little crazy for lipstick recently, mostly on the lower end part of the scale but it’s about time I talked about one of my recent favourites from the high end – a total luxury but oh, is it a nice one. I knew basically since the second I read the shade name of this Dior Addict Lipstick that I needed it in my life – the shade 865 Collection was a must-have because of the name of this blog. After knowing that all it took was a search for swatches online before I purchased this one in a blog sale. And I am so glad that I did.
The main show stopper here is the formula, the Dior Addict Lipsticks are designed to be hydrating while also adding a bit of colour and bit of shine and, no surprises here, Dior absolutely nails it. They apply like a balm, easy as anything and feel comfortable and actually hydrating on the lips. One of the first lip products I’ve tried that lives up to their hydrating claims. From what I understand the lighter shades in the range don’t offer a lot in the way of pigmentation but a darker colour like Collection delivers a good amount of colour onto the lips. I’d call the shade a deep hot pink, if that makes sense, that seems to brighten up my face while still not being too bold thanks to the sheer, balm-y texture and because of this it’s been a firm favourite since I first put it on. It’s enough to make me look polished but not too in your face.
What really surprised me (I don’t know why, it’s Dior…) was how well it weared on the lips – lasting a fairly impressive time considering the light texture. Obviously it didn’t make it through eating or drinking but it’s easy to touch up on the go and you feel damn stylish pulling it out of your handbag. While we’re on that note, let’s address that packaging – damn it is a good looking lipstick. It’s sturdy and feels oh so luxe while still actually having practicality. The middle part comes in and out of the outer packaging with a satisfying click and I love the shape of the actual bullet – perfect for easy application.
Now I’m a little too keen to go out and splurge on more shades from the range as they’re basically my perfect lip product… I feel a Dior addiction forming (I apologise for the almost pun…)
