I’m not sure what it was that convinced me I needed to purchase the super extravagant Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss… maybe it was the late night shopping high or maybe it was that gorgeous packaging. But I knew when I swatched the shade 16 Extase that it was right up my alley and I was at the cash register before I had the time to properly think about my actions. But do I regret the purchase? Hell no! This lip gloss is heaven sent.
I’ve been wearing this almost non-stop since I purchased it for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the shade 16 Extase is right up my alley. It’s the perfect nude-y, pink-y shade that looks super natural but also like I’ve put in more effort than I actually have. It’s one of those easy ones that you can throw on which will go with anything. Then there’s the formula – a long lasting, super glossy one that makes my lips look lovely and it actually feels nice too, it doesn’t have that sticky slippy feeling that a lot of lip glosses normally have – ain’t nobody got time for lipgloss in the hair, the shirt and everywhere else. I’ve been loving to wear it on it’s own or layered over other lipsticks and I’ve found a few combinations I’ve really loved over the last few weeks either to tone down a bolder lip or to give me those glossy nude lips that just pull any look together.
The sleek tube packaging is so Chanel – chic, black and super practical with the applicator clicking out of place to reveal itself. The packaging is along and sleek with the applicator clicking out of the tub and that click in the packaging is worth the $56 (ish? I’ve blocked the exact price out of my memory…) alone. Ok… maybe not entirely but damn is it satisfying! I’m also a huge fan of the applicator itself which seems to apply just the right amount every time. I don’t have a lot of Chanel products hanging around the place but whenever I pull out the ones I own I’m always so pleasantly surprised with their quality and this lip gloss is no different.
Now to get onto that long list of Rouge Coco Shines that I’ve had my eyes on for years…
